Where Memory Meets Miracle

I was thinking… nothing really compares to the storyline that unfolds in your own mind. When you replay a memory, your imagination has a way of embellishing every moment, elevating it to the height of what your heart remembers and hopes it was.

For instance, when I think about reuniting with the love of my life after a decade apart, I can almost see the wind swirling around us, wrapping us tightly together as though time itself has stopped. I imagine an energy surrounding us, born from an embrace we had both longed for all those years.

In that moment, nothing and no one could pull our attention away from one another. Our eyes remained locked as if the rest of the world had disappeared. I can still smell him. I can still feel the softness of his sweater. I can see his hair gently moving in the breeze and the warmth of his breath meeting the cool spring morning air. I can still feel our hands intertwined, and I can still hear his deep voice quietly asking, “Is this real?”

My heart still skips a beat when I remember realizing that I was just as stunned as he was. I stood there in awe, overwhelmed by the realization that God had brought us back to this very moment. It is a gift I will never stop being grateful for.

Some people believe miracles only exist in storybooks, Disney movies, or fairy tales. But this is our story. This is our life. The wonder we share isn’t meant to be kept to ourselves—it is meant to inspire others. If God could orchestrate a miracle like this in our lives, then perhaps the impossible isn’t impossible after all. Perhaps someone else’s miracle is already on its way.

Every morning, when I wake, I find myself saying the same simple words:

Thank You, God
